ASP-OH Statement on the Selection of Bill Bayes as the PRO Presidential Candidate

As requested by the National Committee of the American Solidarity Party, the ASP of Ohio wishes to express disappointment in the selection of Bill Bayes as the presidential candidate of the Prohibition Party. ASP-OH has been following the work of the Prohibition Party and rejoiced that much of the proposed 2020 Platform of the Prohibition Party was moving in a Christian Democratic direction. Unfortunately, this progress seems to have been stymied by the selection of Bill Bayes as the presidential candidate of the Prohibition Party, who upholds values that are in contrast to the Christian Democratic principles espoused by the American Solidarity Party, especially with regard to showing compassion for undocumented immigrants and refugees, as well as concerning labor unions. In addition, many of the just parts of the proposed 2020 Platform of the Prohibition Party were stricken during a National Meeting of the Prohibition Party held on 13 November 2018, which proved to be saddening to the American Solidarity Party of Ohio.
