Dear Fellow Members of the American Solidarity Party of Ohio:
In recent days our nation has processed many images from Hurricane Harvey. Many of these have shown devastation, but others- perhaps the majority- have been more positive and indeed inspiring in nature. Neighbors helping neighbors. Communities helping communities. People giving just to help, to do what they can to bring a bit of light to the darkness.
Such scenes have an uplifting power and inspire a hope that has long been a powerful force in the history of our nation: triumph over tragedy.
These are the scenes of solidarity, and it is our hope and furthermore, our prayer that the spirit of solidarity may bloom all the more in our nation as time carries on and Houston heals. May the spirit of solidarity inspire us all to be that much more compassionate, that much more understanding, and in the end, that much more united.
As a final note, please do remember to help in the relief effort any way you can. At the minimum, we would recommend that members of the American Solidarity Party of Ohio, LLC contribute at least $10.00 USD. We should note that making a donation to the national American Solidarity Party (as requested by Brian Lester in a separate email) is different than donating to the American Solidarity Party of Ohio as we will use the funds directly to support the American Solidarity Party in our state, where we live.
